Battery deposit
According to §10 of the Battery Act, anyone who puts starter batteries into circulation is obliged to charge adeposit of €7.50 including VAT to if an old battery is not returned at the same time as a new starter battery is purchased. Please note that supply batteries, for example, are not starter batteries and are therefore exempt from the Battery Act.
How does the deposit refund work?
- Disposal: Dispose of your old battery at a DIY store, vehicle parts dealer, recycling center, scrap dealer, workshop or any distributor of starter batteries. Have the disposal of the old battery confirmed in writing with a stamp, date and signature. You can also have this confirmed on our invoice. Please send us this confirmation by e-mail within 14 days of issuing the disposal receipt. After this period, we will unfortunately no longer be able to refund the deposit.
When will the refund be made?
The battery deposit is usually refunded within 14 working days of receipt of the proof of disposal. Please note that the refund will always be made via the payment method selected when ordering.
