Regardless of whether you are changing the V-belt, installing the Sport Vario or simply replacing worn Vario rollers - the fact is that the belt pulley has to come off. Since not everyone has an impact wrench and this is not exactly gentle on the crankshaft stump, we recommend using the special SIP variomatic holding tool.

The holding tool is required to loosen and fix the Vario nut. The tool is placed on the belt pulley with the two retaining lugs and screwed to the motor housing using the bushing and the screw. Now you can easily loosen / tighten the nut with a ratchet or torque wrench. The tool should not be missing in any workshop, but it is also advisable to always have the holding tool with you on tours. Anyone who has ever tried to change a torn V-belt without a holding tool will know how important the small holding tool can be for the Vario.
